Palazzo Sacconi has authorisations for development into residential and/or commercial project
Palazzo Sacconi is an important heritage monument in Montalto delle Marche and is testament to the town’s rich past – as birthplace of Pope Sixtus V in the 16th century through to Cardinal Carlo Sacconi’s influence in the 19th century. Originally built as an enormous granary it comprises four floors, each of at least 770 sqm. There are 2 walled gardens with decorative fountain, a well and some outbuildings on the top floor, 2 drive-ways, and 2 external rooms. Its significant, decorative architectural features are protected by the region’s heritage officials -the Soprintendenza per i Beni Ambientali e Architettonici di Ancona.

and a very blue Adriatic behind you. And, suddenly, you turn the corner and this fantastic building appears on the side of the road — majestic, ponderous, massive and yet elegant in a curious way, with specific access routes to each level of the building branching off from the main road. Palazzo Sacconi stood out very clearly as we approached the hilltop village of Montalto. show me more… ▼
Our tour of it with Fran confirmed everything she had described and more. We really could see the potential of such a prodigious building.
